Marketing Associate Intern

POSITION SUMMARY Join our team as a Marketing Associate Intern during the summer and Feed Your Wild Side! Your internship will be based in Minneapolis, MN. You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through formal and informal training, managing projects, attending events, networking with fellow interns, working with key Jack Link’s leaders and team members. At the completion of your internship, you will conduct a final presentation on your internship experience. At Jack Link’s, Marketing is the key leader of the business and so the ideal candidate will have a mix of strong business and marketing skills. The Marketing Associate Intern will be responsible for helping the marketing team grow their businesses and brands, including the flagship Jack Link’s brand. Other brands under management include Lorissa’s Kitchen, Matador, World Kitchens and Grass Run Farms.

The typical marketing intern program will consistent of two to three key projects that span across our businesses. Projects are likely to include some of the following:

  • Supporting the development of new product opportunities
  • Leading the execution of key marketing programs including price, promotional, digital, and other types of programs.
  • Competitive and consumer analysis work.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The duties and responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Lead analysis of brand performance utilizing syndicated and internal data to gain insights and form recommendations.
  • Execute marketing plans including consumer promotions, advertising, shopper marketing, PR, digital and events.
  • Assist Trade marketing team with the development and tracking of pricing and retail promotional strategies.
  • Develop consumer actions plans in partnership with the Consume Insights team.
  • Assist with compiling monthly financial and category reviews.
  • Lead agencies through the development and execution of the advertising and consumer promotion support plan.
  • Lead new product and packaging projects and new product pipeline development.
  • Manage marketing budgets.
  • Develop sales sell stories and support their presentations to key customers.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as necessary

Job Requirements


  • Pursuing BA: In 3rd year with a major emphasis in Marketing
  • No Previous Experience Required


  • Knowledge of 3Cs and 4Ps. General knowledge of a PnL statement.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must work effectively with all levels of management and employees
  • Must demonstrate effective leadership, problem solving, presentation, and employee motivational skills.
  • Proficient in Internet navigation, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The work environment is a plant / office setting with varying degrees of temperatures and noise levels. Exposure to manufacturing equipment movement and wet / slippery floors. However; the vast amount of work is conducted in a climate controlled office. Travel may be required.
