JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:

 

The Associate Brand Manager (ABM) is responsible for leading cross-functional business teams in the planning, execution and analysis of various business initiatives related to products, pricing, promotion, and packaging across specific channels within the Jack Link’s Protein Snacks & Lorissa’s Kitchen portfolio. An Associate Brand Manager gains broad exposure to Consumer Insights, New Products, Sales, Integrated Marketing, Operations, and Finance, which results in strengthened marketing fundamentals and a holistic approach to driving business growth. Demonstrating excellence in these areas will lead to future career progression. This position directly interacts with the field, customers, cross-functional representation, and is a key member of the brand & commercialization team.

 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

The duties and responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following:

 

  • Brand Strategy – Participate in and lead aspects of the development of brand strategy to achieve long-term and short-term business goals, including strategic planning, brand positioning, brand voice, and brand personality.

 

  • Project Management – Lead end-to-end new products, quality improvements, & cost reductions product& packaging initiatives, communications and other projects, working across cross-functional teams, agency partners and external vendors to deliver results.

 

  • Analytics and Tracking – Responsible for in-depth analysis, monitoring, and reporting of brand performance and competitive activity to identify problems, opportunities and trends, as well as leading reporting of key business metrics.

 

  • Planning and Budgeting - Assist in development of annual marketing plans including integrated marketing communications plans and field sales tools & materials to achieve sales objectives. Responsible for both sales/marketing budget management and forecasting for assigned brands. Own the P&L and understand key levers to drive growth.

 

  • Marketing Execution – Execute elements of the marketing plan for assigned brands, including new product launches, price promotions, in-store creative, media plans, social/digital communications, event marketing, and market research projects.

 

  • Ad Hoc – As assigned, projects for broader team, marketing and other duties and responsibilities.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

Required Education:

  • Bachelor s Degree in Business, Marketing or related field; MBA preferred

 

Required Experience and Abilities:

  • 1-3 years of Brand Management experience or 3-5 years relevant marketing experience
    • CPG industry experience preferred
  • Strong numerical and analytical skill set with ability to interpret quantitative data and perform detailed trend analysis utilizing raw volume data
    • Proficiency in Nielsen/IRI syndicated data preferred
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Outstanding verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills with a proven ability to work collaboratively with product development and sales
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams and all levels of management, as well as external creative agency and co-manufacturing partners
  • Demonstrated knowledge of retail environment, trade issues, promotions, social/digital execution and research
  • Personal initiative and willingness to deal with ambiguity in a rapidly evolving environment and Ability to handle simultaneous projects and deliver within agreed upon time frames
  • Experience in marketing plan development: situation assessment, strategy, and tactical plan development

The work environment is a plant / office setting with varying degrees of temperatures and noise levels. Exposure to manufacturing equipment movement and wet / slippery floors. However; the vast amount of work is conducted in a climate-controlled office. Travel may be required.
