Job Description

 Summary

This position is responsible for performing formulations duties to achieve production goals on a daily and annual basis. Incumbent performs necessary functions in order to efficiently, safely, and correctly process raw material in preparation for cooking through the blending/mixing process. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Safety:

 Perform all duties within OSHA and company safety standards; LOTO, wear PPE and maintain safety equipment.

 Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area.

 Immediately report all accidents and deficiencies to the lead/foreman/supervisor.

 Ensure safety devices are installed and working properly.

Duties:

 Follow good manufacturing practices and HACCP training, along with company SOP’s, and SSOP’s.

 Manage start-up to ensure proper materials are available throughout the day.

 Perform necessary checks at start of shift and at each new product; document on paperwork, code date, correct label, etc.

 Follow daily production schedule and achieve specified goals.

 Keep hard supplies for batch run, such as combos and v-mags stocked in the area.

 Add ingredients to batch and verify against formulations.

 Accurately document all ingredients used.

 Accurately record weights of product produced.

 Perform standard operating procedures of processing functions as directed.

 Shovel meat into machine(s) and combos/v-mags using appropriate tool and technique.

 Ensure product conforms to specifications.

 Ensure products are correctly labeled and identified for proper disposition.

 Prevent and minimize rework and/or inedible.

 Record daily production paperwork completely and accurately.

 Keep accurate records of products produced and materials used.

 Tasks will vary as situations and demands change; the lead/foreman/supervisor will assign tasks as necessary.

Education and/or Experience

Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills/ Mathematical Skills/ Reasoning Ability

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and/or maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Basic verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers. Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
