The Continuous Skills Development/Training Specialist will be responsible for the implementation of the Continuous Skills Development (CSD) process at our manufacturing facilities. They will oversee the implementation of a standard training process based on the principles of the Jack Link’s Performance System and Total Productive Maintenance from which it is based. They will be an overall process owner who will develop plans and timelines to ensure we have qualified operators for all key jobs within our plants and ensuring that we use “best practices” in all locations. This person will be responsible for ensuring that the plant level training programs are on track, best practices are shared across facilities and that documentation is up to date.


Essential Functions: 

  • Coordinate the development and implementation of CSD training materials
  • Ensure plant location CSD processes meet the Corporate CSD process requirements
  • Work with CI and CSD team members across the org as required to ensure consistency and continuous improvement 
  • Keeping training materials up to date
  • Working in a team to produce content that’s satisfactory to all end users
  • Ensuring that statutory training requirements are met.
  • Amending and revising programs as necessary, in order to adapt to the changes that occur in the work environment.
  • Helping managers, supervisors and leads solve specific problems that are skill based 
  • Train instructors and supervisors in techniques and skills for training and giving feedback to employees.
  • Demonstrate professional and effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Use good judgment and write clear “user friendly” procedures.
  • Organize and catalogue training materials and resources and effectively communicate how to access resources.
  • Provide trainings and facilitate meetings
  • Work independently and demonstrate flexibility to changes in work schedules and assignments.

Job Requirements

• Demonstrate professional and effective written and verbal communication skills
• Work independently and demonstrate flexibility to changes in work schedules and assignments
• Bachelors Degree in Business, Education or related field
• 2-4 years working in a direct or staff function within a manufacturing environment
• Departmental or Training program leadership experience
• Good at building interpersonal relationship within a manufacturing environment

• Prior experience with change management
• Microsoft Office Skills
