We are seeking an innovative sales leader to create substantial value for emerging channels to eventually function as standalone channels. As our Director of Sales for our Alterative Channel, you will lead the team of National Account Managers (NAMs) who manage the non-traditional accounts (primarily all accounts not included in mass, club, drug, c-store, grocery, dollar, etc). You will lead the team that drives the revenue, trade fund and share goals by focusing the team on execution priorities and developing the strategic course and executing it. You and your team will open new channels and accounts that meet the criteria for profitable growth.

This position requires motivating, hiring and training the NAMs and interfacing with cross-functional teams both internally and externally on developing successful salesmarketing programs to grow our business.

Specifically, you will: 

  • Identify, engage and open new channels and accounts
  • Update Senior Sales Management on sales results/opportunities
  • Review sales progress, strategies and business opportunities
  • Co partner and develop customer specific programs/items/POS to build the business
  • Develop relationships, analyze opportunities and develop sales strategies to drive sales
  • Perform account reviews, sales calls, broker reviews and development with NAMs
  • A/R, Deductions, P&L analysis, PWs, Financial Analysis, Forecasting

Job Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following education, experiences and skill: 

  • 10 years direct selling experience dealing with national/regional accounts
  • 4 year college degree in business or related field
  • Strong written and oral skills
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills in the development of both short & long-term category strategies
  • Goal oriented & well organized
  • Excellent interpersonal skills needed for working in a team environment
  • Strong analytical skills (specifically able to identify trends, opportunities and business insight)
  • Ability to interface with multiple levels of an organization
  • Proactive and committed to delivering results in a fast paced, demanding work environment
  • Must be able to produce and present information in a compelling and persuasive manner

Desired qualifications/expereinces include:

  • Experience developing strategic sales, marketing and financial plans
  • Experience issuing direction/updates to a national retail sales team
  • Competent at manipulating, interpreting & presenting category trend/sales data (Interface with channel Cat. Mgr) to both internal & external parties
  • Masters Degree in business related field
