This position reports directly to the Event Marketing Manager and is overseen by the Director of Retail Activation.

This position is intended to be based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota though field work will demand intermittent nationwide travel.

The purpose of the Event Marketing Specialist is to execute large and small scale promotional events including retail events and drive company brand image and awareness.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to all elements of onsite event execution and evaluation including set up and tear down. This role is responsible for transporting company equipment and assets from event to event in a CDL A vehicle, setting up demo displays as required and full execution of brand image and awareness. This role will be responsible for planning and executing activations, both in the field and internal corporate events but primarily with retail customers in service of enhanced marketing support at the customer level.

OBJECTIVES TO ENSURE ACHIEVEMENT OF KEY RESULTS

 

Drive the development and execution of large and small scale promotional events, creating points of differentiation, and driving brand image and awareness.

 

  • Is responsible for safely transporting company equipment and assets to designated locations.
  • Is responsible for and oversees the onsite execution of events including set up and tear down.
  • Acts as the onsite liaison between Link Snacks, Inc brands with relevant customers, local authorities and event contacts to ensure appropriate event execution as directed by the Event Marketing Manager.
  • Operates assigned mobile marketing Class A CDL vehicles and equipment
  • Act as a brand ambassador while distributing product and answering questions; directing consumers to participate in promotional games and activities while promoting the brand.
  • Hire temporary on site product samplers, brand ambassadors and or models when directed by Event Marketing Manager or Assoc. Event Marketing Manager.
  • Work with the sales, shopper and trade teams to promote the brand at retail locations across the country.
  • Develop activation plan in conjunction with retail activation team and customer contacts, communicate to all stakeholders, and recap activities with team post event
  • Assist and/or fill in for other team members when needed.
  • Follow retail activation/promotional schedule as provided by Event Marketing Manager.
  • Maintain DOT best practices when operating Event Marketing equipment in the field.
  • Keep vehicles, trailers and all company assets in clean and organized show ready condition.
  • Maintain vehicle and trailer and manage maintenance program to ensure a high level of reliability and appearance.
  • Job duties, functions, and responsibilities are not limited to this job description, but extend to any directive, task, responsibility and/or project assigned by supervisors or managers.

Shares best practices and participates in strategic planning.

  • Works closely with the Event Marketing Manager and Event Marketing team to assist with planning, developing and executing mobile marketing promotional strategies within assigned budgets.
  • Actively participates in meetings such as workshops and trainings to gather                              and share learning and align strategies.  Re-applies successful models at                                   events
  • Ensures quality event execution and production for all Link Snacks, Inc events.

Administrative 

  • Provide detailed event recap reports in a timely fashion
  • Provide detailed expense reports in a timely fashion
  • Participate in and provide assets for web-based promotional marketing such as      pictures and related media
  • Oversee and maintain inventory of promotional product, clothing items (wearables), games and various other materials
  • Maintain vehicle and trailer fleet maintenance records as assigned
  • Maintain required DOT logs and IFTA reports

  • Maximum awareness is generated via the creative and comprehensive harnessing of all relevant media and communication opportunities
  • Events and/or projects are executed in a timely manner and within budget

  • Enhanced relationships built at the customer level as an outcome of increased support through retail activation

 

Job Requirements

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Have valid Class A CDL driver’s license or the ability to obtain one
  • Clean driving record
  • Must be willing to travel and work weekends and holidays as necessary
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel
  • Motivation to build brand awareness
  • Proficiency with Microsoft suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Be self-motivated with excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Must be a problem-solver with the ability to think on your feet
  • Must have professional appearance and behavior
  • Must be reliable and have excellent time management skills
  • Must have an outgoing, friendly and helpful attitude toward consumers, temporary workers, and fellow Link Snacks, Inc staff members
  • Basic knowledge of electronics (sound mixers, amplifiers, TV, camera, lighting)
  • Basic mechanical knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of tools

 

DESIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing or related field.
  • 2 years Class A CDL experience with pulling trailers 24 feet or larger
  • 2 years experience on a mobile marketing tour
