Primary Purpose:

To perform necessary functions in order ensure: product specifications are met; customer/consumer quality expectations are achieved; our organization complies with all USDA regulations; all quality issues are identified, investigated and addressed.

Accountabilities:

  • Obtain random samples from outgoing finished product and check with laboratory instruments to ensure that samples meet Jack Link's specific quality standards.
     
  • Prepare necessary forms and trend charts in support of kitchen or packaging inspections function.
     
  • Perform all necessary procedures to ensure compliance under HACCP regulations. 
     
  • Act as a back up for daily operational checklists.
     
  • Follow all Jack Link's safety and health procedures for protection of all plant associates.
     
  • Assist Quality Control Supervisor with serious or repeated quality problems to help determine the cause and prevent further occurrences.
     
  • Assist with Quality Control and Production audits. 

Job Requirements

 

Skill Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required, degree preferred
     
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
     
  • Ability to complete training course and acquire HACCP certification within 6 months of hire/transfer
     
  • Ability to effectively implement solutions to quality issues
     
  • Firm knowledge of quality assurance methods, product testing methods, standard measurements, regulatory compliance standards, and documentation procedures
     
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
     
  • Ability to adhere to all company policies and regulatory guidelines
     
  • Ability to accept direction from Supervisors and Managers

  • Ability to communicate with co-workers and Supervisors

  • Ability to interact with others in a respectful manner
     
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
     
  • Demonstrated math aptitude
     
  • Ability to read and write in the English language
     
  • Ability to perform repetitive functions
     
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision
     
  • Exceptional time management skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit/stand for long periods of time
     
  • Ability to work in a refrigerated environment and endure temps over 160° for short periods of time
     
  • Ability to repeatedly lift, push and pull over 50 lbs.
     
  • Ability to bend, kneel, squat, reach and grasp routinely throughout shift
