Leadership, management and oversight of JLBJ’s network, server and database environments including the design, implementation and ongoing support. This position will have a hands-on approach to meeting the needs of the organization and responsibility for developing a future-state architecture that accommodates growth, reliability while considering Total Cost of Ownership.



The duties and responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following:


  • Cultivate a work environment that fosters high-performing employees and encourages innovation and continuous improvement of technology and services.
  • Manage performance and productivity, and conduct hiring, staff planning, and resource allocation
  • Provide individualized coaching, guidance and mentoring to team members and develops them through job design, training, skills forecasting, and engagement
  • Establish and foster partnerships with IT leadership and business partners across the organization to influence direction and effectively execute priorities
  • Work closely with business and technical architects, as well as leadership to facilitate IT infrastructure as an enabling platform for projects
  • Ensure that all aspects of Jack Link’s infrastructure are secure, well documented, driven by standards, and maintained in a highly performant and supportable state
  • Explore emerging and innovative technology and trends; research and recommend hardware, software and infrastructure products and processes that support Jack Link’s internal growth requirements
  • Manage the configuration, patch management, change, and release processes for IT Infrastructure including servers, switches, routers, firewalls, phones, storage and databases
  • Manage and develop Jack Link’s backup, recovery, and technical disaster recovery capabilities
  • Manage third party provider performance and relationships and hold them accountable for the delivery of high quality products and services
  • Develop short and long-term plans that are aligned with Jack Links strategy and culture along with budget requirements for those plans
  • Review and approve contracts for IT infrastructure hardware, software and services
  • Create project proposals, requests for proposals; evaluate and recommend the selection of vendors to secure necessary equipment and contract work
  • Create and present annual budget and manages costs for assigned areas
  • Manage and coordinate urgent and complicated support issues and act as an escalation point for all infrastructure requests and incidents
  • Manage the timely delivery of quality technical support service to clients
  • Provide on-call, off-hours, and weekend support as assigned to support Jack Link’s staff
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as necessary
  • Travel required 10%

Job Requirements


  • BS/BA Degree in computer related field or equivalent work experience


  • 4-year technical degree in computer science field   
    • CISSP, MCSE, CCIE technical certifications  


    • 10 years minimum IT experience
    • 6+ years of experience in leading and managing technical Server, Network and Database Engineers
    • 4+ years of experience managing remote team members
    • Experience delivery large and complex infrastructure projects and deployments


    • Experience working in food processing and manufacturing focused environments, especially when focused on CPG related businesses.


    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; must work effectively with all levels of management and employees
    • Demonstrate effective leadership, problem solving, presentation, and employee motivational skills
    • The ability to react quickly to issues and develop both short and long-term solutions
    • Excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and pay close attention to details
    • Solid understanding of information security practices, frameworks, and technologies
    • Solid understanding of IT supported technologies, and an advanced knowledge of IT Technology and infrastructure technologies (Microsoft Servers, Azure, VMware, automation tools, Microsoft SQL Server, Office 365, Palo Alto Firewalls, Cisco Networking, HP Servers, etc.)

The work environment is a plant / office setting with varying degrees of temperatures and noise levels. Exposure to manufacturing equipment movement and wet / slippery floors. However; the vast amount of work is conducted in a climate-controlled office. Travel may be required.
