JOB SUMMARY: Directs and coordinates activities concerned with processing, packaging and sanitation operations by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. The Supervisor provides leadership/direction to the lead of the departments, and ensures staffing and schedules are adhered to. Completes documentation and carries out responsibilities in accordance with company policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The duties and responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to the following:

  • Perform all required duties in order to comply with USDA regulations.
  • Coordinate all functions related to the operations of all processing procedures, and specifications.
  • Understand and perform all procedures to correctly and efficiently produce product in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Prevent and minimize rework and inedible.
  • Understand the concepts of FIFO (First-In-First-Out) on perishable products and ensure successful implementation of FIFO throughout processing operations within the facility.
  • Recommend methods to improve manufacturing processes including equipment performance to ensure product quality and increase efficiencies.
  • Monitor weekly requisitions for daily supplies.
  • Monitor weekly requisitions for manufacturing supplies.
  • Identify, control and follow up on losses incurred due to substandard supplies, i.e., time and materials.
  • Complete and review all HACCP, and SSOP requirements and paperwork. This includes but not limited to Operational Inspections and Corrective Actions.
  • Monitor SAP and ensure its accuracy, this includes proper documentation.
  • Perform production paperwork, receiving, and inventory control procedures with complete accuracy.
  • Ability to perform all procedures to set-up, operate, and perform minor adjustments of all machinery.
  • Ensure all required sanitation functions are within acceptable standards.
  • Attend all department and company scheduled meetings.
  • May be required to perform QA procedures during the absence of QA personnel.
  • Ability to perform activities of workers supervised.
  • Maintaining, training, and developing staff.
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements


Education and/or Experience

  • Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior knowledge of food processing and related equipment helpful.

Language Skills/ Mathematical Skills/ Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents such as technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office programs i.e.: Word, Excel, Outlook
