Come run with Sasquatch in our new downtown Minneapolis corporate office as a Regulatory Affairs Specialist at Jack Link’s! 

In this role, you’ll create and assure compliance of federally regulated product label information, including nutrition, ingredient declaration, allergens, claims and associated product communication. You’ll leverage your project management skills on several critical projects including partnering with other departments to interpret labeling regulations and to communicate regulatory, labeling and compliance matters. Finally, you’ll file necessary applications and handle government interactions pertaining to the regulatory process for products requiring governmental approval.

Specifically, you will:

  • Generate product labeling information, review labels and marketing collateral to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Provide regulatory interpretation and food labeling guidance cross functionally to teams to ensure labeling compliance.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of food labeling systems, project trackers and other tools/resources by reviewing content and entering data.
  • Respond to customer and consumer inquiries regarding nutritionals, ingredients and claims.
  • Complete and submit documentation to support regulatory requirements and claims.
  • Manage nutrition label and claims maintenance, including analytical verification of nutrition labeling.
  • Participate in development and updates of regulatory policies and procedures as needed.
  • Assist in the improvement of labeling systems and processes.
  • Monitor and maintain up-to-date knowledge of current regulations and food labeling regulatory activity.


Job Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following education, experiences and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Food Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of food labeling or regulatory affairs experience
  • Working knowledge of USDA / FDA food labeling regulations and policies.
  • Knowledge of food and nutrient composition related to food labeling.
  • Experience using and managing nutritional software such as Genesis to assist in nutritional label creation
  • Organized and detail oriented, with strong analytical, problem-solving and skills.
  • Solutions-oriented team player capable of multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Knowledge and experience in food labeling and regulatory affairs, preferably with both FDA and USDA.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and to get information required to complete tasks.
  • Self-starter and able to work in a variety of different projects and prioritize appropriately.
  • Ability to be flexible with shifting priorities.
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
